The elite competition includes 20 teams. This competition is part of the World Curling Tour and the provincial curling circuit.
The first round takes the form of a triple knock-out. Eight teams will advance to the finals. The total purse will be $27,000, and each participating team is guaranteed a minimum of $2,000 in earnings, in the qualification round. The winning team will take away a total of $8,000.
The registration fee is $1100 per team ($1030 + $50 WCT + $20 Provincial Circuit). All matches in this class are 8 ends, and all teams start on Thursday.
ELITE - Criteria
Taking account of its popularity, the organising committee has decided to establish some criteria to select the teams.
Until September 1st, there will be minimum 8 available places for teams from Québec. We will register the teams in the order of receiving their inscriptions and respecting the following criteria:
- The qualifying teams from the last competition of the Curling Challenge Desjardins (elite division).
- The winner from class A of last year’s competition of the Curling Challenge Casino (open division).
- The teams invited by the organising committee.
- The teams best classed in the World Curling Tour.
After October 1st, the organising committee will fill in the places with the teams on the waiting list. The contacts will be made by e-mail within the shortest delay.
